Groundbreaking is anticipated in 2027, and construction is expected to take about six years. Nobody is moving here for a hospital job next spring. What you'd be buying into is a decade of steady demand in one corner of western Wake County.

It's not just the hospital.

The campus sits inside Veridea, a 1,000-plus acre mixed-use community from developer RXR. The plan includes 8,000 new homes, 3.5 million square feet of retail and dining, 12 million square feet of office and research space, and a new Wake Tech campus. Ground already broke on Summit House, the first apartment buildings, in October 2025. Those open to renters in early 2028.

What it means for your decision.

If you're relocating and choosing between Apex, Cary, and Holly Springs, this is a real tiebreaker worth weighing. More jobs and more amenities tend to support values over time. But it cuts both ways. Ten years of construction means traffic, noise, and a moving target on what your street feels like in 2031. Buy the house you love in a location you understand, not a rendering.
